Get to know our Operations Manager, Courtney

Today, we’d like to introduce you to someone integral to the day-to-day running of the team, our Operations Manager Courtney. We chatted with Courtney to find out more about her and her role and get her unique insights into the business.

Hi Courtney, can you tell us a little bit about your journey at Moorgate so far?

My journey at Moorgate has been very varied. I have had the opportunity to work within every part of the business before settling into my current role, which I love. It’s the perfect balance between working quietly in the office and liaising with both colleagues and customers. It suits my extroverted introvert brain!

Has Moorgate changed or grown over the years, and how?

Our main offering hasn’t changed, but I would say it’s evolved to suit the needs of customers based on the current times. For example, technology has evolved massively in the time we have been in business. That means we have to make sure we keep up to date, so that we can advise our customers on the best equipment for their requirements.

As Operations Manager, what are your main responsibilities that ensure the business runs smoothly day-to-day? What might an average day look like for you?

Each day is different which is why I love this job so much. As I have experience in all elements of the company, I can switch it up if necessary and cover other people. An average day for me consists of making sure general day-to-day operations are running well – for example our hire fleet, pricing up work that our engineers have carried out, booking in driver training, and reconciling accounts. It’s endless!

How does Moorgate ensure a positive customer experience?

We all believe that communication is the best way to provide a positive experience for customers. Whether you’re giving somebody good or bad news, how you communicate it is so important. We make sure our customers are aware of every step when working with us so that they know where they stand. Although most people communicate through email now, I still think picking up the good old-fashioned phone is the best way! Emails have no tone and can easily be misunderstood.

In your opinion, why does Moorgate stand out from its competitors?

We’ve been in business for many years, and we know what we’re talking about. We’re a family-run company which means our heart is truly in every aspect of what we deliver. You’re never just a number with us. Many relationships have been formed over the years, which is why we still have customers who have been here since the beginning.

What do you enjoy about working for Moorgate?

My team. As cheesy as it sounds, we really are family. We laugh together every day, and we all work so well together. Personally, for me, I love to see the company grow and succeed and when I have a hand in it, it really does give you the warm fuzzies!

Can you tell us what you enjoy in your spare time?

Spare time? What’s that? As a mother to an almost two-year-old, spare time revolves around him. Family time is everything to me now, so my spare time is spent making memories with my little family. And the occasional ‘mums let loose’ nights with the girls!
