After nearly 30 years at the helm of Moorgate Forklifts, Neil Brook has stepped into semi-retirement and his daughter Courtney has taken on the role of Managing Director

Moorgate has always been a family business and this handover keeps it that way. For customers, nothing is changing in terms of the service we offer. It’s the same team and the same approach, with Courtney now guiding the business forward.

“It’s very exciting. It’s a huge opportunity and although I’ve taken the role on during the busiest time of my life, having just had a baby, I’m still enjoying every minute!”

Courtney Brook, Managing Director

A familiar approach

Courtney has been part of the leadership team for several years, so this felt like a natural next step. She knows the business inside out and is focused on keeping things dependable – whether that’s a truck turning up on time or an engineer who already knows your site.

“My main priority is providing the same quality service across the company as we have done over the decades. I’m very lucky to have walked into a well-established, well-run company. I want to ensure that it continues and grows by working closely with the wonderful team I have around me.”

Courtney Brook, Managing Director

Learning from the best

Courtney and Neil Brook in 2007

Neil has been part of Moorgate from the beginning and has seen the business through all sorts of changes. The main things Courtney has picked up from him are knowing when to make a quick call, staying resilient when things get tough and adapting when customers’ needs change. You see this in action when we sort out a breakdown at short notice or adjust our stock based on what customers actually need.

What customers can expect

“We’ll still be the same family-run company that people can rely on for their material handling and training needs.“

Courtney Brook, Managing Director

You’ll still get honest advice without the hard sell and the same familiar team turning up when you need them. Business has been busy over the past year, and that growth means our hire fleet is bigger than ever, so we can respond faster to urgent requests. Training courses continue to fill up months ahead, because businesses know that properly trained drivers mean safer operations and fewer accidents. And, whether you’re looking at electric forklifts or need a breakdown sorted quickly, we’ll find an option that keeps your trucks running and your team safe.

The industry keeps evolving but we stick to what works: staying flexible, being practical and always putting customers first.

What’s next?

Moorgate has been keeping businesses running since 1986. With Courtney now leading the way, the focus stays the same: keeping customers moving, whatever comes our way.
