Can you extend the hire term?
Yes, if you decide you need your forklift for longer than originally arranged, we will arrange for you to keep it as long as you need.
Are trucks collected or delivered and is there a cost for delivery?
You can collect and we can arrange delivery – the choice is yours. We hire transport and the cost is worked out by zones, meaning the price depends on where your truck is delivered.
How do you clean and maintain the forklift trucks between hires?
When a truck returns from a hire, we do a series of checks, including all levels, oils, gas bottle, etc. If the vehicle is electric, we put in on charge. The truck is washed thoroughly and parked up ready for the next hire.

When is short term forklift hire useful?
Short term forklift truck hire is useful for businesses who might need extra trucks on site quickly, for a short time, or perhaps to meet a deadline. It’s also an option when a business needs a truck with a specific feature or capacity for a one-off task.
What’s considered short term?
Our minimum short term hire period is 1 week, and this goes up to 6 months. Anything longer than 6 months is considered long term hire.
How’s it arranged?
You would call and speak with our team who ask the hire period, the type of truck needed, and when it’s needed for. We advise if we have a truck available and arrange the hire if you’re happy with the suggested vehicle. For new customers, we ask you pay upfront.
Long term
When is long term hire useful?
Long term hire is suited to businesses who need trucks for an extended period but want the flexibility of hiring instead of buying.
Businesses hire for financial reasons, or because they may not need the truck in future. If you know what forklift you need, but don’t have the cash to buy outright, long term hire is a way for spreading the cost and getting the truck you need now. If you have a lengthy project requiring extra forklifts, but you won’t need them at the end, long term hire is the solution.
What’s considered long term?
Long term forklift hire for used trucks is a minimum of 6 months. Brand new trucks are hired out on 5-year contracts. They come direct from the manufacturer – Hangcha.
Can you buy a forklift after a period of long term hire?
This would be decided on a truck-by-truck basis. But if the truck has been on contract hire for multiple years, then yes, we would offer the option to buy the vehicle. For brand new vehicles, you would be able to buy it at the end of 5 years.
What’s the process for this?
We’d begin with a call to discuss your requirements. We recommend a site survey with one of our engineers to check your requirements and make sure you get exactly the right truck for your operation.
Are there any restrictions?
There aren’t any restrictions other than the minimum hire time of 1 week. We make sure the term is right for you and check the truck has been matched with how you intend to use it.
